The Fridge couch

remaking something junky into something useful...

Navy blue 1984 BMW 735i back seat w/ central arm rest in Electric Orange and a 1983 Admiral Dual-Temp refrigerator trimmed w/ pecan oak shelving, integral padded arm-rests adjustable side racks, lower door shelf with fridge handle legs.

I know, but I love this thing!

Living room renovations....

Like every long weekend, we start talking about the work we need or want to do around the ranchero. This weekend is dedicated to gutter work- but we started talking about the living room last night. After a few adult beverages it started going down a path that will never work for us, but we did come up with a few ideas- like removing a wall and re-doing the horrid ceiling in wood. Of course, the flooring MUST be re done. 30 year old carpet is past it's normal life span- no matter WHAT anyone says.....

Inspiration and envy follows...

as always, I love antlers and that fireplace is to die for...

this picture and the next two are from Coastal living I believe. I love that the rooms look functional and, well, real.  You know- do-able.
I adore the wall of bookshelves!
The chair! The ceiling!!

I wish I knew where this picture came from- I love denim sofas- it's a downfall of mine I know, but I love them...

Currently coveting....Chesterfields

I love chesterfield sofas. My dream is to find an old leather one that is in good enough shape to be used, but is also old and crusty at the same time. For 25 bucks. Well, I can dream, right? Here are some of my favorites....
this is exactly what I am hoping to find one day..

Patterns on furniture

I have always been a big believer in neutrals and solids on the large pieces of furniture. Now that I have a huge 12 foot long vintage sofa with an obnoxious pattern on it- I find myself drawn to other patterned pieces of furniture.... like these....
Now, I can't have any one of these (due to the above mentioned sofa) but I think these would really perk up a room with a big neutral sofa....

Sofas

I totally saw the above sofa today, except in a darker fabric, for 39 bucks at a thrift store. Problem was it was wobbly and when I sat on I almost fell to the floor. Looks nice though.

Love the multi colored fabric, thinking I can do a DIY of this sometime...

One of my favorite vintage sofa pictures- the color, the shape, the pillows- perfection...
I just love this room. The green of the sofa with the white walls and black and white drapes, plus the rustic table are all so right on trend... it's fabulous.

vintage saturday

This is the sofa I want. Sleek, simple and still HUGE!
Now, I have those chairs, and I have a much better fireplace, but my Mom found the coffee table at a garage sale. It's white instead of black- but it's the same one. She got there 5 freakin minutes before me. Damn it......
I could do a lot with this frame. It's what I hope to find in every alley I sneak down on garbage pick up day.
